I recently read an essay on the Motherliness of God, which argued that the Bible consistently revered women. I’m upset that it’s been misinterpreted to control and strip women of their worth. Genesis 1+2 doesn’t suggest that was the original design. Ive been seeing a lot of references in your writing that show women were not only important but equal.

How does it feel reading scripture that, in context of historical events and the readers’ understanding, amplify women’s worth and freedom, as you’ve shown, versus stripping it away? For example, the Bible shows Mary’s actions compared to the other disciples. Jesus appeared to them first. Writing this was revolutionary at the time.

I’ve been reading your articles! So far the way the story was written in the Bible is God being revolutionary, especially in how a text in a patriarchal society would be written. How it’s been flipped and used by imperial systems to control is the issue I see you unraveling! Love it
