The app for independent voices

I just received this review for the “Democrates” piece on another site:

“I don’t really have anything to critique here, I just enjoyed your text very much and wanted to say so! I love the character you’ve created, you can feel and hear his passion for his truth through your writing. He’s aggressive, relatable and sensational. The whole thing is kind of tragically hilarious.

There are so many quotable moments “the justice department can win a game of connect four in three moves” or “I don’t need your fancy ass French sounding words to teach me how to revolt” (love that). Your metaphors are clever, punchy and thought provoking.

If I had to say anything really, I found the voice of the journalist maybe a little weak for the first few questions. It feels like you hadn’t completely felt a way into that character up until “you tryin’ to off yourself with that contraption?”. After that, the reader begins to understand that he’s only there to ask the entertaining and provocative questions (confirmed by “our readers’ll eat this shit up” at the end).

But yeah, just came to say, cool text 😉
