People telling me they basically cried really, really hard once in response to me saying I have panic disorder are exactly the people you’re describing. It just shows that they can’t empathize with me unless they are in the exact same situation. And because of that, they try to minimize my condition and make theirs seem more important, so that we can “meet in the middle,” which is absolutely idiotic.
