The actual island called Long Island contains Brooklyn, Queens, and “Long Island” which are two counties… Nassau, and Suffolk,. This is always nitpicky thing amongst New Yorkers because Brooklyn and Queens and the other boroughs of New York City look down upon “Long Island” because our two counties are not boroughs of New York City. But we share land with Brooklyn and Queens. And yes, JFK is on the island. Anyway, it’s confusing but that’s pretty much the gist of it.
