When I was a very small child, I saw an episode of Sesame Street in which Ernie puts a sock on his nose. I wanted to do the same thing so I could be like Ernie too, but obviously my nose wasn’t big enough for a sock to fit around it. So instead, I would put my socks on top of my head. My parents said once that for a while they had a problem with me keeping my socks on because I was always putting them on my head.
