Excellent work Struggler. I will go back through the series with these insights in mind. I had not noticed so much symbolism, even relatively simple symbolism such as Griffith being above of the air, compared to guts groundedness.

This is why the only thing I watch anymore is anime. There are some deep lessons and actual storytelling, as opposed to absolute degeneracy and vapidity in modern media.
