love this metaphor. It speaks to the reality that growth doesn’t always happen in unison and that’s not always a sign something is wrong. Sometimes one person expands upward while the other holds steady, and the work is learning to stay connected without asking the other to become something they’re not.This kind of differentiation is rare. And when it works, it’s incredibly grounding.
