Exactly the cost of maintaining the Alberta Healthcare System that has become yet another bulging bureaucracy that is incapable of managing their patient load. Its a conversation I have had with my own Family physician who also has my adult daughter as a patient. My daughter developed a rare bone disease, needed critical surgery but that wait list was tragic.

We (her parents) immediately sourced private and found a surgeon in town. He operated within the week and much is being billed back to AHS. His practice has nurses and anaesthesiology. It was a win - win within Alberta and in this case was NOT prohibitively expensive?
