I am still puzzled by the notion that you can't have both, … the past, and the present. We must live within our current reality, yes, but that shouldn't exclude the pieces of the past that we enjoyed and held dear. Is there any particular compelling reason we cannot have a landline phone as well as an iPhone? (other than the commercial reasons for profit). I don't think so. Both have their own unique benefits and detractions, but combined …you have a “perfect” world. It's been studied by some these days that children and teens especially, are more balanced and happier when they can only use a standard landline phone for calls to friends, etc. Rules for proper etiquette on when you should not call friends, such as if it's dinner time and disrupt family time. No texting to be available 24/7, no predatory behavior to block online, etc. You get my drift… The point is, you CAN have both if society wasn't being controlled by money, power, and algorithms. Will this ever happen, … of course not. What is good for people without being commercially beneficial, isn't a factor anymore. Not being dramatic here, it's just the plain truth. It is what it is … Regrettable, oh yes!! To the “nines”! But an acceptable consequence in the reality of today, for some. This next generation will have their own list of regrets as they mature and age, and become a part of a newer version of their reality in time. It's the way of life, I guess: it's just doing it in warp speed now.
