Dust as the representation of shadow. It’s an instant metaphor that popped out for me. I have been exploring this in my own psyche these past few days. How merely dusting them won’t make them just go away.

“When I brushed the dust away,

it didn’t vanish.

Of course not.

It only shifted,”

Because energy cannot be destroyed but transformed.
