i plan to share my next substack essay tomorrow, on exploring what it means to practice harm reduction across the internet, and the politics of being paid over substack, a platform that has enabled and monetized the presence of n a z i s while african creators and other creators throughout the global south are exploited without pay due to the colonial architecture on stripe
i’m still uncertain about what comes next, and share this essay as a call to action & invitation for further dialogue, rooted in the understanding that substack cannot be reformed due to the politics of the founders, although i believe we should still push for black and brown creators to have the opportunity to be compensated for their labor. i hope to migrate to another platform (whose politics are not antithetical to my own) while finding new ways to stay connected - this community is everything to me!
