Scottish husband here – can confirm the eyebrow was indeed aloft throughout.

Spot on about Ro. The man deserves a medal, or at minimum his own show. He came across as the only person in the whole endeavour with any grasp of reality, which is ironic given they’d signed up for something completely unhinged.

Banjo, on the other hand… I started out willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but by episode six I was actively irritated every time he appeared with another “vision” while Ro was elbow-deep in something unspeakable. The whisky lounge decision in episode one should have been a red flag the size of Ulva itself.

But the real crime was the edit. I genuinely could not tell you what the actual plan was, how the finances worked, or where money was even coming from at various points. Was the café renovation in the budget? Out of it? Funded by magic beans? Who paid for the hire of that helicopter? The show seemed to think we’d be too distracted by vintage doorknobs to notice they’d completely failed to explain the most basic logistics. For a property show, that’s borderline negligent.

Still watched all six episodes though (even if my teeth were gritted by episode five). That’s the power of good TV and watching someone else’s financial decisions implode in real time.
