I started the year with this idea about what I’d like a journal to be: not a place to dutifully record the day’s events, but a way to keep track of the highlights: what’s interesting to me, what I read, what I learned, the best of what’s floating around in my brain that might otherwise slip away. For me, that should include some amount of drawing that isn’t Art with a capital A, but more of a form of visual note-taking. Which got me thinking about making drawings that look like your handwriting, and how even people who think they can’t draw at all can do this.
