I'm loving this show and also stunned for pretty much all the reasons you mentioned. My husband is an ADHD musician and I'm an autistic writer, and our dynamic is remarkably close to Banjo & Ro's. I'm not trying to diagnose folks on the telly but I'm the "Ro" in our relationship, so I kinda get it.
Banjo is not living in reality. To be fair, he hasn't in any of the previous programmes he's been in, either. That's the frustration and the magic. His whimsy level is off the charts, and if BBC is trying to appeal to the cottage core fans, they've nailed it. I mean, he brought home piglets. Piglets!
So, yes. Ro is suffering. Ro will, presumably, continue to suffer, and be endlessly likeable whilst doing it as he clearly consistently finds the charm in Banjo's antics and willingly succumbs to the nonsense, even if the edit is making it difficult for the rest of us to do so 😅
