So many fine versions...so what do you folks think about John ("Plunderphonics") Oswald's 'Greyfolded - Transitive Axis' & Greyfolded - Mirror Ashes"? With The Dead there is always the question of what you heard and what you imagined, particularly when you are certain you are there at the moment of creation.

The composer Benjamin Boretz once wrote, "In music as in reality, the disappearing moment of experience is the firmest reality." Years of hearing "Dark Star" have only left me feeling that is evermore mercurial. "There it is!"... the transcendent..what shall I call it...?!?....?..."Gone?"

But with 'Greyfolded' bouncing around between the speakers, I feel like the whole constellation is somehow indexed, noted and stored in the Akashic Records. Heady stuff. Thanks for the essay.
