Great interview about the Badu tribute project. The point about Ben Williams being able to anchor both the jazz harmonics and the hip-hop feel at the same time is spot-on for that kind of music. I've always felt that neo-soul bassists dont get enough credit for how they bridge those two worlds, especially when your dealing with samples that got flipped into full compositions.
