This owl is a wonderful etching rendering hope well found. About 4 wks ago, I realized the pair of owls who had moved to the roof next door and were gaily catching food (owls need fur to pellet on so they can swallow food and digest it ) and leaving a small hill of bones on the porch walkway. A handy man shut off the eaves with netting. They took their nesting elsewhere. Two weeks later, we were burning leaves in the ditch. I looked up and an adult white owl with an orange streak and a brown streak on head was staring at me intently letting me know the family was still around and feasting. I haven't seen them since the weather's cold spell. A good many northern birds winter here.
