Really looking forward to reading this book, Lydia!

My smoking gun scripture is in John’s account of Jesus going WAY out of his way in order to meet a very specific woman with a very specific history at a very specific well with a very specific goal as she’d been selected to become the first active APOSTLE after revealing himself as Messiah.

And…the wonderful church “fathers” and later leaders made ALL of the actual amazing story instead about the woman’s marital history, and hinted at sexual immorality. Which is 100% not hard to BETTER explain in a myriad of more intellectually honest and contextually accurate ways. This comment is quickly becoming an essay though so I’m hoping Lydia hits it in her book or a future book haha. But bottom line when read honestly, Jesus was absolutely telling the woman that she didn’t really need ANY man. She just needed The One she was sitting right in front of.
