After all, Doonesbury went full weird, too: has everyone else forgotten Uncle Duke becoming a zombie? (The December 9, 1986 strip, with Mike and Zonker talking about Iran/Contra, is particularly bittersweet to me: my best friend and I were walking Mike and Zonker impersonators at the time, and we had that same exact conversation, with The Other Paul accusing me of being stoned when I heard the news, about six hours before that comic came out.)
