I just read WSJ’s profile of Amanda Askell and it left me conflicted.

I’m okay with a woman philosopher shaping Claude’s behavior. I’m not okay with framing a chatbot as a child with a digital soul being raised by a parent.

Machines don’t have souls or childhoods. Humans do. Let’s keep our moral language, and our accountability, there.
