I have many issues with Prasad’s takes - which allow too many BS narratives to subsist unchallenged.
Regardless, it’s clear that the Pharma behemoth couldn’t tolerate even Prasad’s rather muted attempts at trimming their wings.
This is actually well worth a read.
The examples of approvals based on surrogate endpoints, and the industry pushback when Prasad cast doubt on them, are eye-opening, as are the tactics employed by the captured mainstream media which turned on him.
It’s been abundantly clear to me for some time now that there’s not going to be any meaningful reform from the top. All we can hope for is growing grassroots awareness so people can make better decisions for themselves.
