To me as a “Lutheran” atheist from Sweden, this speech was very interesting and holds up well today. I wasn’t fully aware of the inherent conflict between the Jewish faith and the post-world war Zionism. To me it seems that the latter strangles the long and diverse Jewish tradition. The talk also provides an interesting framework for trying to understand Netanyahu, the war against Iran, and the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Etnic nationalism is a dangerous thing.
