I’ve found non-dualism in Indian philosophy (at least the surviving schools) too deflationary. At the same time, it has its origins in grappling with the kinds of problems of observational equivalence in knowing things that I think are useful. So I’m an instrumentalist about irony.
This series is great (as is the book) and made me realize how much of classical Indian philosophy is missing in Indian cultural conversation. Also made me appreciate the Buddhist traditions a bit more. historyofphilosophy.net…
