Make money doing the work you believe in

I wonder how exactly Ramirez and other Lutheran Nationalist sympathizers and the adjacent would react if an opposing Christian Nationalist movement were to take power.

Doug Wilson recently said that in his Christian Nation, Catholic Eucharistic processions, Marian processions, and other “displays of public idolatry” would be banned. You might think that, “well, Lutherans don’t believe Catholic teachings on these”. But what else constitutes a public display of idolatry? Lutherans aren’t iconoclasts. What about creating and hanging up icons? Crucifix statues with Jesus? Are nativity scenes at Christmas bordering on idolatry?

And let’s not even get started on the fact that he thinks that making the sign of the Cross, while not illegal, is still not “appropriate”. whycatholic.com/why-dou…

And let’s not even get started on what would happen if a Catholic or Eastern Orthodox variant of Christian Nationalism got a grip. You wouldn’t exactly be able to say you didn’t expect the Inquisition if you criticized the Pope/Papacy in the former!

So what would make Lutheran, particularly the LCMS and other Confessional Lutheranism a better implemented variant? Because “we have it right”? “We rely on the grace of God alone”. You certainly are not relying on the grace of God if you are using the grace and mercy given to trample down on others instead of doing your vocation to build them up.

At the end of the day, I can only call to mind the verse from Psalm 118:8. “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man”.
