We are living well into a rapid, accelerating anthropogenic extinction event. Gold does not exist to serve the purposes of the economics of a rotted ecocidal, genocidal empire. Gold existed before our blip of hubris as the Holocene planet slips away. We still do not understand our living home habitat.

It seems to me that have destroyed the very biosphere that makes our human life possible, but we still pretend that we are somehow in control.

Our so-called civilization glorifies and promotes criminal sociopaths, malignant narcissists, and manipulative Machiavellians into positions of power.

Our so-called civilization operates by one principle: if we want something that someone else has, we kill them in order to steal it.

Just as we are eliminating species at an accelerating rate, we are increasing human violence and brutally militarizing every aspect of human life.

How will gold help with any of our real problems?

Your economy is a complete fraud. It will collapse because it is made of violence and threats of violence.

How we treat the earth when we get our food determines how we treat each other.

We treat the earth with indifference at best, and cruel hatred at worst.

This is how we treat each other.

All of the financial arrangements that you discuss are not somehow neutral or normal or generative of life.

All of the financial arrangements that you describe are rooted in theft and avarice.

When I was in high school, my Future Farmers of America friends all said three things:

1. Farming is the process of turning petroleum into food using dead soil as the growing medium.

2. If a plant is not soy or corn, it is a weed. Kill it.

3. Farming is not about growing food. Farming is about making money.

I’m pretty close to 68 years old now,and I believe that life goes on, but that we humans are being rewilded. I don’t know what that means in terms of extinction, but the odds are very grim. And I know that all species do go extinct eventually — no exceptions.

I am not fatalistic. Rather, I suggest that we each need to organize our lives around making a way for life as best as we can rather than around serving the financial systems that are designed to profit from destroying life.

How will gold help with that?

Gold will still be here for a very long time — will humans be here for very long?
