Catherine Austin Fitts engaged and her grandfather a director with the Rockefeller Foundation.

Dr. and Mrs. William T. Fitts Jr. of Philadelphia have announced the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Austin Fitts, to MacDonnell Gordon, writer who lives in Santa Fe, N.M.

Miss Fitts, who uses Austin as her given name, and her fiancé plan to be married May 21 in Shrewsbury, Vt.

Miss Fitts, an alumna of the Friends Select School in Philadelphia and Bennett College, studied Chinese at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

She is a candidate for a master’s degree at Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, of which her grandfather, Dr. Joseph H. Willits of Langhorne, Pa., and Jackson, N.H., is former dean. He is a director of the Rockefeller Foundation.
