I have always thought if I can just be more “low maintenance” than others and save more to invest or grow a business that will get me ahead which will then give me my dream lifestyle. In my job I meet a lot of people who are high maintenance. They complain if there is no fine dining options nearby. Compare country club memberships. New cars and homes. I’ve realized much of those things don’t really bring happiness, if anything if you’re constantly trying to brag about it there is some insecurity you’re fighting deep down.
