Make money doing the work you believe in

I enjoyed reading this and it feels that the fact that implicit learning through self-teaching is something a lot of people have lost sign of.

The thing that slightly confuses me about the US context is that lots of people over there seem to be trying to figure out the best way of teaching phonics from scratch hen there is a good model out there in the approach used in England. Lots of other English-speaking countries have been influenced by the English approach. Why do you think it is has so little traction in the USA? Is it related to US exceptionalism or something else?
