Women have a primal relationship with their bellies, which will manifest in different forms and fixations depending on the current culture’s attitudes toward hunger, sexuality, body type, and other attitudes that affect how we interact with our core of power.
It makes sense to me that women have, over the course of change, been obsessed with flat stomachs and six packs, thigh gaps and big asses and waists snatched.
Every culture at every time is threaded with awareness and worship of the womb, though it often shows up inverted — when the general feelings toward sexuality end hunger are of disgust and repression and control.
Yet inverted as they may be, these body fixations are all ways of bringing more power-via-awareness (strength) to those parts of her body which hold eternities of wisdom.
