Rick, an inspirational message, despite sobering statistics. Iowa needs to work on its softer qualities to retain young people. We need to be open to people of all races, genders, sexual preferences and nationalities. And Iowa needs jobs that pay well. We need to invest back in public schools. And we need state leaders to stop trying to tell Iowans what’s legal to think, write and say.
