I always think of the info literacy thing, the fact checker thing, and the media literacy thing as characters in a Pac-man game, with a disagreement over which is the big Pac-thing eating the littler Pac-things. As I was reading your piece I thought about two things that I think are relevant; one is desire, which we have a hard time talking about and including, but is to me so clarifying of the drives inside folks (plus the idea that desire may seek satisfaction, but its true product is the reproduction of more desire!). The second is rhetorical approaches. Journalism, info, and fact approaches like to see rhetorical analysis as interference, or even beside the point. But I think that is at the center of the shift from epistemology to ontology, which is a great observation here!! Thanks!
