Interesting read. I’ve been working with sandboxes for a while, some quick thoughts:

I personally think beyond the hyper scalers, vercel and cloudflare have done some amazing work, especially with the way they scale easily and cheaply.

One thing that didn’t look like a big issue but became a major annoyance was things like node_modules, be it for skills for a knowledge worker or for a project as a programmer.

Even with object storage mountable sandboxes, those pesky node modules consume precious resource time and cannot be re-installed every boot
