Make money doing the work you believe in

I get your point about cities with large tourist economies, but here’s a counter-point: large homeless encampments are probably terrible for tourism. I don’t know of any specific data on this, so I’m saying “probably,” but I know I’ve avoided visiting CA cities for partly this reason, and I’m guessing I’m not the only one. I also suspect the presence of large homeless populations contributes to people’s beliefs that crime in cities is increasing (even though it isn’t), and that can’t be good for tourism either.
