We used to worry about being seen, about the possibility that someone might understand too much. But as an adult I’ve realized that it takes a particular kind of soul to truly see you, and not everyone has that ability.

It hurts me when I read emotions I know too well, and at the same time I’m grateful that despite everything you’ve faced, you’ve met your difficulties with courage and kept moving through life, giving the best of what you can each day.
