This process reads like a systems theory analysis and I’m loving it! You’ve done a thorough job of naming the inputs and outputs, and the people in the system. I can’t wait to read your ideas on whether the system can right itself. I think one of the reasons so many good people in Indy schools are happy to add a Renaissance Reading Program (and other such) is because we love the communities in which we participate and even though we KNOW they are inherently broken, we so want to help them get better (the Faustian bargain). Like you and Yuval Noah Harari explain, we inherently know that our connections are what have allowed us to flourish as a species, and we can’t see a way to change the system, the very air around us.
