The strategy is not the pedagogy. The decision is the pedagogy. - This is it! I’m all for having a repertoire of strategies, but if we don’t know how to use them effectively or respond when the lesson falters - we are not really teaching. And, if those assessing teacher performance are just looking to tick off strategy use rather than the through line of the learning - we are not coaching for success.
