Ironically, I had just started reading Herland, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and was thinking about how different cultures would teach expectations about relationships, etc. I had also just had an hour long conversation with my cousin, a Catholic, about being not just loved by God, but _wanted_, in the fullest flowering of our being.

So, that all may have contributed to me replying to the accusation by specifically saying, "You know who's my boyfriend now? God! I converted to Judaism. Get out of here! Get the fuck out!"
