Make money doing the work you believe in
Very thought provoking piece, have a bit of a contrarian view though. Disruption ≠ collapse — it’s transformation. The internet disrupted business two decades ago; AI is now disrupting the internet.
Gating isn’t new — top journals were never free. What shrinks is a narrow slice: free experiential blogging. People still read the voices they follow, AI answer boxes or not. And research, market data, policy, legal filings aren’t going anywhere — institutions publish those because they need to, not for traffic.
The real move: humans haven’t stopped sharing raw experience, they’ve relocated it. Millions of hours a day go into AI chats now, with candor that never hit a public blog. Not a data wall — a redirect, at massive scale.
So pure human content becomes rare, but that’s not model collapse — it’s model shift. The human feed isn’t dying. It’s mired inside AI chatbot answers now.
