The Dutch liability is interesting at most, but I do not see any parallels that apply. While it was not Israel’s primary intent in its conflict with Hamas to protect Gaza’s civilian population, neutralizing Hamas does protect the residents of Gaza from Hamas oppression. I also question the parallel of Israel’s implied control over Gaza. Did Israel not pull out of Gaza years ago as part of a peace deal granting Gaza autonomy? The term “genocide” has serious meaning and should not be diluted to fit a convenient narrative.
