My mom used to have a book called “Houseplants for the Purple Thumb,” so I thought that was the expression, but I’m guessing that’s just a nice was of saying (ominously) “black thumb.” I’m admiring your thriver and rooting for your money tree. You should absolutely talk to it! That’s one thing I remember about Mary Richards on the Mary Tyler Moore Show - her talking to her plant. A recent Telepathy Tapes podcast was about psychics who can communicate with plants. Since listening to it, I’ve definitely been greeting mine more often - and apologizing to them. I’m not a gifted plant parent either…
