I am going through exactly the same phase as you, Emma, although with only one child in the nest the emotions seem even more concentrated. However, my son is ready to spread his wings at Uni and I am excited for all the possibilities ahead of him. I'm also ready for the opportunity it will bring me in terms of time to focus on my needs. After so many years in a caring role, the 'me' in all of this has been subsumed but I'm looking forward to finding myself again - daunting as that feels!
