Curious if you see any room for ideas from holography/emergent spacetime frameworks to impinge on this? If pointer states are usually position-based because things tend to be local in the position basis, and if we think that “position” itself is an emergent property from certain kinds of quantum states, should we expect the full view to need to understand the details of how position actually emerges?

That's usually been my hesitancy to adopt MWI, and why I lean more to positions like yours: conservative frameworks compatible with, but not totally bought into, the full MW picture.
