It's somewhat ironic how the divergence in CSA results started around the time when Trump started weaponizing export controls and tariffs. Looks like China doubled down on its industrial policy -- remove all chokepoints by seeking technology independence while becoming the indispensable, cheap export powerhouse the ROW depends on. Accusations of unfair subsidies and dumping have only grown louder in the West since then. Growth in consumption, wages, and employment are simply not priorities. Had Trump never started the export controls and trade wars, would we have seen China move towards a more balanced economy instead of a K-shaped one?
