Today I am honored to begin serving as CEO of the The Official ACM.

I'm deeply grateful to the ACM Council and Executive Committee for their confidence, and to the many volunteers, colleagues, and ACM staff members who have encouraged, supported, and challenged me throughout this journey. I look forward to working alongside all of you and to meeting and learning from ACM's members and partners around the world in the months and years ahead.

For nearly 80 years, ACM has played a unique role in advancing computing through scientific excellence, education, professional community, and the open exchange of ideas. Its members have helped shape the technologies that define our world and the discipline of computing itself.

I believe that computing remains one of humanity’s greatest engines of discovery, innovation, and progress. Its potential to improve lives, expand opportunity, and advance human flourishing has never been greater. I also believe that ACM has a critical role to play in bringing together voices and perspectives from around the world and across academia, industry, and government to help realize that potential.

I've been fortunate to work alongside ACM as a volunteer for many years, and that experience has only deepened my respect for this remarkable organization and the extraordinary people who make it what it is. One of ACM's greatest strengths is the partnership between its dedicated volunteers and its exceptional professional staff, all united by a shared commitment to advancing computing for the benefit of society.

It is a privilege to begin this next chapter. I’m committed to listening, learning, building relationships, deepening my understanding of the people, programs, and communities that make ACM so impactful, and working together to support ACM's mission and ensure it continues to serve the global computing community for generations to come.
