Sometimes, I still can’t believe that we've reached the point where I accept the need for this level of civil disobedience. It's especially disheartening for my partner, who was born in the Soviet Union, to witness an increasing number of parallels emerging between our present society and the one he was born into.

He embraced this place and its people (and especially me) precisely because he hated the profound cynicism and reflexive subversion too often characteristic of those from his birth society! Stop giving us cause to become similarly cynical, current Canadian society!
