PLG supporters can talk about all the marketing or branding they want, but it's not crazy to say their league is living on borrowed time. The P.League's marketing was able make up the ground before when their local talent was only lagging behind a little bit, but now the disparity is pretty significant and even if TPBL's marketing is mid, the play quality on the court will more than compensate for it. Fans may feel indignant about PLG's situation, but the truth is they may be better off negotiating with TPBL for a way out. The running joke is that TPBL is the new T1 and could end up like SBL, but the reality is that the new league's is in a much better shape than some fans perceive, from branding to competition parity to especially the quality of players. The nail in the coffin would be if this coming FIBA Asia Cup qualifying window in November no one from the PLG gets called up, cementing the league as second tier.
