People tell me rape victims should be able to choose to have an abortion. Did this woman choose? Absolutely not! She didn't do what she WANTED to do. She made a decision out of fear. No good decisions ever come out of fear. Pro-lifers who accept exceptions for rape are allowing pro-abortion people to use rape victims as POLITICAL PAWNS. They need to stop cooperating with this kind of manipulation. Manipulation of the hearts and minds of compassionate people. Misplaced compassion. As one rape victim put it, "I am not your argument for abortion." Pro-life people who accept the rape exception are throwing rape victims under the bus. Given the attitude of society toward rape victims, rape victims above all need and deserve legal protection from abortionists and coercion. Rather than trying to compromise, we need to educate pro-life people that the baby does not deserve capital punishment for her father's crime. If we truly believe that the baby is a human being, abortion for rape becomes unthinkable. If someone is willing to make an exception she undermines her case for the humanity of the unborn. Pro-aborts love it when we do this.
