Thirteen years ago my family dug up a reel of motion picture film in a deteriorating round metal can.

When we unraveled the film, the emulsion began to immediately dry and flake off, taking the images with it; but those that stayed intact showed a woman having breakfast with two children, some men in boater hats gathered in public with mounted police, and a few other things.

For my paid subscribers I’m going to try to scan and re-animate the frames that I was able to save, to see how these images look in motion for the first time in a hundred years.
