Hmm, I’ve read the comments and as someone who is African, I have this in my culture. I have many friends from all over the world, I can positively say we are all at the very least a GOOD host.

I don’t think hosting has to be straight out of a Martha Stewart cookbook but it’s the intention. It’s a different type of effort that is put in to acknowledge that hey! “I’m taking care of you all (your friends) this time!”

Even if a friend stops by my home unannounced, there’s something about even offering them a glass a water. Or whatever you might have in the fridge.

I think more people should learn to be better host. In a way it’s an extension of love. An exercise even.
