I just posted perhaps the most important thing I’ve ever written. It took me five months of writing and rewriting (on top of ten years of research and thinking), it’s 14,000 words long, and I have no idea if anyone will actually get to the end of it. Writing is a deeply peculiar business.

Alchemy’s bad reputation is materialist propaganda. Alchemy was one of humanity’s first genuine systematic attempts to understand the nature of reality, and it deserves credit for this, not disparagement because they were wrong about the details. And the fact that it was mixed up with spirituality was a feature, not a bug. I think we should all be practicing alchemy
